Innocent Ndagijimana

DIABETES SPECIALIST

Innocent Ndagijimana is a dedicated public health professional with expertise in global health policy, healthcare service delivery, and academic program coordination. He holds a Master of Public Health in Global Health Policy and Financing from Yonsei University, South Korea, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rwanda.

Currently, he serves as the Academic Programs and Partnerships Coordinator at the University of Rwanda’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences, where he oversees academic scheduling, policy development, and postgraduate medical education programs. In this role, he fosters collaborations between the university and teaching hospitals to enhance medical training and healthcare delivery.

Beyond his professional role, he is a board member of the Geraldine Trada Foundation, supporting initiatives that empower young adults living with diabetes. Previously, Innocent served as Programs Manager at Citizen Rights and Development (CRD), leading projects in citizen engagement, sexual and reproductive health, and sustainable livelihoods. He has also worked as a consultant for international organizations such as KOICA and KCOC, evaluating healthcare interventions and international development projects in Rwanda.

With nearly a decade of clinical experience, he previously served as Head of the NCDs Clinic at Muhima District Hospital, specializing in non-communicable disease management and community outreach. As a researcher, his work focuses on dyslipidemia among diabetic patients and eHealth strategies for diabetes management in Rwanda. His passion lies in strengthening healthcare systems and addressing both infectious and non-communicable diseases through policy, research, and program implementation.
